If the nominee is Barrett, I am struck that her being the mother of seven children, including elementary age ones, is a pretty barrier-breaking women-in-the-workplace moment for the highest echelons of power in the U.S. See ~29 min mark re: motherhoodhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HMAHnT-y7c&feature=youtu.be …

Sen. Tammy Duckworth bringing her newborn to the Senate floor is another such moment that comes to mind.

Its just sad that her legal ideology means that other women would be denied the opportunity.

Except one woman doesn’t support the rights of women to exercise autonomy over their bodies…the other went to war for this country and lost her legs and does. But sure, roll with this.

I'm pretty sure @ClareMalone is as scared as anyone to turn back the clock on women's rights. Keeping two ideas in mind at the same time is both allowed and useful.

5 biological, 2 adopted. 1 of the biological has Down’s syndrome. I do think that life experience is a huge deal to have on the court, regardless of her politics.

IIRC both Sotomayor and Kagan are unmarried and have no children, which is fine, of course, but 7 kids is an interesting counter to that!

Yet she would deny the right of other women who cannot afford seven children access to an abortion. She has the nannies, private school, etc. to make this choice possible. The low wage mom is on her own.
