    In this moment, we want to hold up and honor the Floyd family. From the murder of George last year to today’s sentencing, the Floyd family has been forced to relive their loved one’s murder and their own trauma again and again on an international stage.

    I hope this sentencing allows the Floyd family some modicum of closure. But I hope we ALL understand - there is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING that has changed since Derick Chauvin murdered Georgy Floyd that would stop it from happening again.
