HUGE shout-out to Michael!! He lives along the river and is 'sickened' by garbage left behind by floaters. So much so that he routinely floats himself and collects garbage along the way. Our deputies 'caught' him and his haul last night. We need more like you Michael THANK YOU

While training at Estacada Lake yesterday, one of our divers found a baggie 55 feet underwater. It contained a phone, credit card, driver’s license and $20. The deputy contacted the owner. She'd lost the items in July. The deputy dropped the items off at her house.

Yesterday, our deputy captured this dramatic reminder to use extra caution on the mountain passes. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. Chain up as needed and slow down while we ride out this bout of winter weather…. (1/2)

Downed power lines on SE 362nd/Colorado caused this tractor truck to try to turn around; it got stuck. Our deputy challenged this gravel-loaded Ford pickup driver to pull the tractor-truck out. The driver agreed — so long as we got video....

Last night Deputy Ringheim found a Western Screech Owl injured on 152nd near Bradford. “I was able to get him up to Dove Lewis for care,” Ringheim told us. “This is the only picture I was able to get of the little fella."

Here's a great example of how disciplined our own #K9 Grimm can be: Grimm was told to find a specific odor in this room. He stays on task — passing up toys and (unbelievably) hamburgers and french fries strategically placed in the room to distract him. Grimm is ready to work!

Deputy was on Hwy 224 when an on-coming car passed traffic at 105mph, nearly hitting the deputy head-on. Our deputy was able to catch up to the driver and “advise” him of his poor decision making. Please drive safe!

Last Friday, one of our recruit deputies and his training officer noticed a duck acting distraught. Investigating further, they saw two ducklings had fallen into a storm drain. The little family was happily reunited after our deputies' small-scale rescue mission.

Yep, that’s a peacock. Just another example of “You never know what you’re going to see on patrol.” A deputy stopped to help this motorist out. She told him the peacock was stuck in the grill guard. Glad to say the #peacock walked away from this encounter and appeared uninjured.
