    TONIGHT! The Spokane St Swing Bridge is 'closing' for emergency repairs. During inspection, we discovered a hydraulic fluid leak. The bridge will swing out of commission for a ~week+ & will be closed to vehicle traffic but open to marine vessels. Details

    UPDATE: Southbound I-5 mainline lanes have reopened to traffic following a rollover incident that closed all lanes. SB slowdown is anticipated to clear shortly as traffic returns to normal levels. TY to responders , , and for their work.

    One lane southbound on I-5 has re-opened to allow vehicle through, but traffic backups persist. advises drivers to continue using alternate routes.

    UPDATE: The left lane of NB I-5 has reopened. Only one lane still getting past the scene on SB I-5 as crews work to clear this lumber from the lanes. Continue to avoid the area!

    UPDATE: The I-5 mainline is back open, but only 1 lane is getting past the scene. Drivers are still encouraged to use the EB I-90 off-ramp (the collector distributor) to continue back onto SB I-5 to avoid these long backups!

    UPDATE: Crews are filtering traffic out of the SB I-5 express lanes. Once they do that, they will open the lanes in the NB direction per the normal weekday schedule. However, the NB opening will be delayed. We appreciate your patience!

    UPDATE: Traffic is being diverted off the mainline onto the EB I-90 off-ramp. Stay in the center lane to continue back onto SB I-5. Crews are working as fast as they can to clear this collision as quickly & safely as possible. We appreciate your patience.

    UPDATE: Avoid the I-5 mainline! If you are already on I-5 in downtown Seattle, take the EB I-90 off-ramp and use the center lane to continue back onto SB I-5. All lanes of SB I-5 are blocked as crews respond to this collision.
