Starting today, we're increasing street sweeping every Wednesday throughout alleyways in Mission Beach during the summer months. Smaller sweeping vehicles are being used to reach alleys in both North and South Mission Beach.

The closure will start at the La Jolla Parkway offramp from I-5 north and SR-52 west to Scenic Drive. The eastbound side of La Jolla Parkway will remain partially open. Drivers are encouraged to follow detour signs that route traffic around the closure starting Wednesday night.

🚧 Traffic alert: The westbound side of La Jolla Parkway will be closed overnight for construction activity from 9:30 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Crews will be working to stripe the newly repaved roadway!

⚠️Update: Due to a water main break, Scripps Ranch Blvd northbound is closed between Meanley Dr and Hibert St, and southbound between Hibert St and Scripps Lake Dr. Scripps Lake Drive eastside lanes (both directions) is closed just east of Scripps Ranch Blvd.

The Crystal Pier has been fully reopened! The west end was temporarily closed as a safety precaution because the structure appeared to be damaged during winter storms. A consultant’s inspection determined that while the pier sustained minor damage, it is safe for public use.🙌

🚧 Traffic Alert: Sixth Avenue from SR-163 to University Avenue in Hillcrest will be closed from Saturday, May 13, at 5 a.m. to Monday, May 15, at 5 a.m. for a construction project. Scripps Mercy Hospital is building a pedestrian bridge over the street. Look out for detour signs!
