Starting today, the City will begin fully enforcing the Sidewalk Vending Ordinance in beach areas after the Ordinance became effective in the Coastal Overlay Zone. Sidewalk vendors are prohibited from interfering with public access to the shoreline. bit.ly/3HpS5XA

The City was awarded a $2.45 million state grant to help people living in encampments in East Village. The Encampment Resolution Fund grant will focus on finding safe and stable housing for an identified area known for high concentrations of encampments. bit.ly/3DtWkAj

Following last week's wind storm, the City conducted an assessment of the tree and identified new signs of leaning and cracking at the tree base. The decision was made to remove the tree in order to ensure the safety of park visitors. Thank you for your patience!

On Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, a large eucalyptus tree will be removed from the International Cottages area of Balboa Park. The intersection of Pan American Road and Presidents Way has been closed starting today. The road will remain closed tomorrow while the work is completed.

The City Operations Building, 1222 First Ave., is temporarily closed while work is underway on the building's backup power system. During the closure, the City's Development Services Department (DSD) will be operational, processing permits and responding to customer needs.

As of Friday morning, Jan. 27, Balboa Park and other park areas have reopened for public access. Please note, Balboa Park is still an active work area with trees being removed and assessed. Visitors are asked to use caution in the area and allow crews to do their work. Thank you!

City crews are working to remove fallen tree limbs and branches blocking streets and walkways. San Diegans are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings during these conditions. To report downed trees or streetlights, use Get It Done or 619-527-7500.

Strong winds have knocked down some trees in and around the Balboa Park area. City crews are removing branches blocking streets near the Cabrillo Bridge and Morley Field. If possible, avoid the area to allow crews to work safely and efficiently. Thank you for your patience!

In the past week, City of San Diego reservoirs have collected 7 billion gallons of water from rain and runoff! To put it in perspective, that's enough water to supply all 1.4 million City residents for six weeks.
