    Planning to attend an event with lots of people? COVID-19 is a risk, but that risk can be reduced by wearing masks and staying 6 feet apart. Get tested 3-5 days after going, even if you’re vaccinated. If you develop symptoms, get tested right away.

    The Council was successful in overriding the Mayor's veto on Resolution No. 2021R-262. That resolution sets the ballot language for the proposal to establish a new Public Safety Department, and will be referred to voters at the Nov. 2 municipal general election.

    The Mayor vetoed the resolution adopted by Council with alternative ballot language related to a proposal to create a new Public Safety Department. The City Council will reconvene to consider the Mayor's veto at 6:15 p.m.

    We'll be conducting a national test in coordination with of the Emergency Alert System at 2:20 PM ET on Aug 11. The test will go to televisions & radios, while specially configured cell phones will receive an emergency alert test code message.
