Fauci brings up vaccine hesitancy as a major concern. Interesting how many smart people close to this -- @ScottGottliebMD comes quickly to mind -- seem genuinely worried about demand not keeping up with supply, once production really ramps up.

That’s a genuine concern, but similar to testing in the beginning once it became widely available (somewhat) then it became a more accepted outcome. I think operating on that same “monkey see, monkey do” mentality while making it available could work.

then why not start to lift restrictions on who can get it? drop the age restriction another 10-15yrs and monitor the take rate until supply/demand start to balance

Amen. That’d be the only good thing that could come out of the increase in anti-vaccine propaganda.... my ability to get the shot sooner.

I know this is not good at social level, but as someone who currently will not be allowed to get vaccine until July.... bring it on!

People say they won’t get it, but as soon as they see everyone else running around freely - they will get the shot.

Peer pressure is a hell of a force: family, friends, employers...we'll get there.

People will get it for the most part. Demand is definitely outstripping supply in Florida.

If I get the vaccine, do I care? Or does that 5%-10% ineffectiveness rate of these vaccines become the problem? I have no idea so its a legit question. I definitely understand to achieve herd immunity and crush the pandemic we need a certain % of people to get it.

I have that same question too, for vaccinated individuals worrying about their own health. Totally get the strain on hospitals and regions if cases stay high among unvaccinated, but do vaccinated people get to breathe a sign of relief and return to some normalcy?
