Very happy that the conversation is picking up on Mastodon 🐘

People love to ask "why are you still here if you want to leave Twitter?" - well, guess, it's because it's here that I have the bulk of my contacts. But I'm slowly rebuilding them on Mastodon, as more people move over.
If you all moved I wouldn't have to be here 🙃

So why do the work? Well, a couple of things, mainly.
First, there's no ads on Mastodon. I know it sounds crazy! We're SO used to them. But imagine: an untainted timeline of only the things you care about, and not the ones that the platform wants you to swallow.

Who pays for it then? For now, instance maintainers (Aras, in my case). But I'd be more than happy to chip in with a monthly fee, even more than the 8$ that Musk wants from me - and that he will never get.

Second: you can exclude Retweets (called "Boosts") from your timeline entirely, or mute Boosts only from individual people. So you can listen to someone and read their thoughts, without seeing third-party content, if you want.
It's pure bliss.
