This week our team at Unity unveiled a sleeve of new, "rethought" titles. In doing so, we were given the ability to choose what we felt was most appropriate for our role.

After much discussion we decided to go with this fancy alternative version to the more established "developer advocate". While it can look unfamiliar for now, we wanted to reflect that we support not only programmers, but all kinds of Unity users.
Developers, 3D artists, Narrative designers, Technical artists, Researchers, Designers, Animators, Interactive storytellers, Film-makers, Students, QA testers, Audio designers, Art directors, Riggers, Illustrators, VR painters... there are so many types of creators these days! 
And finally, regarding "advocate": we do a lot of work to ensure that we bring back the opinions of the community, much more than what is visible from the outside. And I believe it's one of the most valuable parts of our job!
GREAT choice of title
Great choice. With game engines these days the line between designer and developer is fading. Creator is a nice way to cover all
Mind canon: Another considered title was: "We see both the struggles of Creators, and why it's so difficult to address the issues", but was discarded because it was deemed "too wordy". During the announcement the song "stuck in the middle with you" was playing.

All of the team have changed to this lovely new title, except Ciro, who forever remains “Senior Overlord of Mischief & Mayhem.”
