    I've long suspected that only a small minority of academics oppose free inquiry & genuine pursuit of truth. The larger problem is that when those mini-groups ferociously try to shut it down, the majority stays silent because it is not worth the personal risk to try to stop them.

    "...people can be found to have trodden across one of the orthodoxies... A small number of bullies then come for them. And a larger number... fail to stand up for them. It is it this last part of the matter that is worth focusing on."
