its mmr based matchmaking which means your opponents were most likely legend last season
What's the point of Legend being a ranked floor if I'm already playing against Gold players on day 3? The only reason I bother with Legend is for better games. My highest ranked opponent so far was Diamond 10 right after hitting Legend with a 65% win rate.

Streamer I watch, high legend player, was playing against gold/diamond players whilst he was still bronze. I get the new system, but it shouldn't be quite so strict.
