One vote decides this: Bob Iger's. The theaters can push back against Universal, they can't push back against Disney if the Mouse decides to follow the Troills example.

Chapek:“We're going to evaluate each one of our movies on a case-by-case situation...Artemis Fowl is moving over to Disney+", same as Universal's "going forward, we expect to release future films directly to theaters, as well as on PVOD when that distribution outlet makes sense."

I'm really starting to wonder if this will end up being a battle that nobody wins. I'm just as happy watching on a big screen at home. And I can even watch without wearing pants and pause the movie to go to the bathroom.

I'm curious if they can both survive. Like, you can watch it in home if you like, or you can go out and make an evening of it. Different strokes and all that.
