Good news for Iowa farmers: USDA will reopen 37 Farm Service Agency offices in Iowa during partial govt shutdown Seems to me Trump admin trying to help ease burden of shutdown & Pelosi trying to maximize+refusing to negotiate or even show up Not a good example of ldrship

Really? Your leader, Mitch McConnell could open the government today by bringing up the vote Nancy Pelosi passed in the House. If Trump vetoes, Senate would get 60 votes to override. You've already passed this same bill 100-0. Leadership? Tell @senatemajldr to allow Senate vote.

Incorrect. The Dems have refused to make any offers or counter offers, and most of the time aren't even willing to meet. How can this move forward when the Dems aren't even drawing up counter offers? They are solely responsible for the shutdown.

Chuck, seems to me that you are going along with trump and McConnell... perfect, perfect example of party over country. trump OWNS the shut down. Open the gov't and then negotiate border security..pretty simple..

The problem is if he opens up the government, they won’t fund the wall. they won’t even talk about it. Pelosi already said no she about the border wall if after 30 days the government was reopened. This is all on the Dems, Pelosi, and Schumer.

No, this is not what's happening. What's happening is Trump is trying to placate specific corners of his base, insulating them from effects of #TrumpShutdown just as he did with tariffs. Are you happy seeing special favors for specific voting blocs? What if they weren't YOURS?

Chuck please go ahead & retire today. You have been out of touch with the poor and middle class for years. It's time we get new reps in Iowa. #OutOfTouchGrassley

And I would add please bring Representative Steve King home to Iowa with you. We'll ditch Joni in 2020.

Oh, Chuckie, Chuckie, Chuckie, don't you mean the #TrumpShutdown? I learned in 4th grade that Congress is a co-equal branch of government and can override a presidential veto with 2/3 vote in both chambers. In case you need a refresher, here's a link... https://www.senate.gov/reference/glossary_term/override_of_a_veto.htm …
