Today will always be a horrible day for the rest of my life. A wonderful young man who just happened to be a super cricketer with so much more 2 achieve was struck at SCG 5 years ago. My heartfelt love & condolences remain with the Hughes family who have endured unbearable pain💔

Watching Test cricket on spinning wickets in India is simply the best. It’s an absolute examination of your technique & temperament . It’s exhilarating cricket. ITS A TEST 🏏

The pain of reality was at times suffocating but the beautiful tributes & celebration of the life of my great mate SKW was magnificent. Your family & in particular your 3 children were brave & strong, their words poignant. Farewell from ex teammates below. We love you mate 💔🏏

Can someone please explain to this man why 250 wickets at 23 over 7 years of hard work & toil repeatedly dismissing the best batsmen in our country is overlooked for an exciting prospect of 5 shield games 😩

To those of you who have never kept wickets at an elite level shhhhhh. Your comments about are out of order and with no clue. He is in the best three keepers in the world. Done an outstanding job as Captain and will bounce back in Brisbane. One bad day move on 👌

Brilliant 👏 one bloke with elite awareness the other lost in space. Before you English start crying Carey let the ball go before Bairstow had moved, but he anticipated he would. Umpire had not called over - Smart 👌 Attention to detail “The little things”

Hard to believe it’s 15 years since we uneccesarily & tragically lost our coach, mate & mentor. Gone but never forgotten David Hookes. As I left the MCG tonight I paused to remember 💔 thoughts with family & friends #RIPHookesy

Mark Wood destroyed our tail with fast pitched balls at the stumps 1st dig Starc cleaned bowled Cummins expecting a bouncer done cold LBW & Murphy bowled. Why on earth are our two most experienced men just bashing short shit into the pitch? It’s hard to watch & been costly 🤷‍♂️

OMG THIS IS WHY WE GET UPSET. Stokes clearly touching the rope for the world to see but the 3rd umpire gets it wrong. HOW 🤷‍♂️🙈 human error even with the technology that is just not good enough.

For those interested Ben Foakes is the best keeper in England by the length of the Flemington straight and has scored Test match hundreds. He also scored 124 for Surrey in a run chase victory last weekend. Go figure 🤷‍♂️🙈 #madness

It is beyond doubt is a special talent still with some work to refine in his overall game, but his ability to win matches is next level Undisputed cleanest hitter of the ball in Pakistan He needs to be nurtured / guided & he will deliver on world stage👍

This evening my great mate takes his final bow at the MCG - his spiritual home. Thanks to all my friends who have reached out at this excruciatingly painful time. Here are some of my reflections helped me gather in this mornings paper. RIP SKW 💔🏏

Shane Warne and @ChuckBerry1969 were mates for 35 years. Warne always said Berry was the best wicketkeeper he’d seen - and might even have mentioned it to Adam Gilchrist once. Berry has always worn his heart on his sleeve. Now he can’t stop it bleeding. theage.com.au/sport/cricket/

Trust so important in life without it you are a dead man walking. A wise old head once said to me it’s not always the obvious ones putting the knives in you. So disappointed & disillusioned in the events of today but not even one little bit surprised 💔🏏

First thing the sub continent fielders need to learn is get the bloody 4kg of tape off your fingers Can’t catch or field cleanly with artificial feel & compromised technique Somebody must stop this crap Sore fingers are part of the game harden up & catch / field with intent

Unless you are on the inner sanctum you never really know the mechanics & thinking but boy I’m disappointed that has been omitted from the 5th Test. Selectors have been outstanding this series but IMO this one is a mistake for the now and the future.

Im glad Brett Ratten is coach of the club I support he is a quality person. No bullshit just straight down the line. We are in good hands. I genuinely feel heading in right direction. Exciting young talent now trade a few on big bucks not delivering & move forward another step 👍

I’ve never really liked many English Cricketers. Botham was brilliant, Gough played with Passion. I really like Buttler but boy oh boy I love Mark Wood. He has steel in his veins and plays with massive ticker ❤️ Good win England well done 👏 The series is still alive

One of the best talent spotters in the country little known quiet achiever Doug Patrick (Melbourne CC) told me 12 years ago there is a rangy young kid from Tamworth who is going to be a very good test bowler his name was Josh Hazlewood. He was 100% right 👌

Absolutely superb by Alex Carey stood over the top to Michael Neser. Two nicks in one over first one very tough but managed to hold on. Second one pure. Game changing moments right there. Brilliant by the Australians.

Pant might be a slightly better bat than Saha and a louder voice but not even a comparison with the gloves. Costly misses here as well as the ones in Melbourne. Average against spin with stiff hands / poor technique. Feel for Saha deeply

It’s a bloody sad day when a passionate coach who cares deeply for his playing group is moved upon. It’s a brutal industry elite sport. I feel for you Brendan Bolton a quality person who sadly didn’t get the outcomes he passionately built & chased.

That’s why I grew up with my role models telling me never use the nightwatchman. If a batsmen can’t do it why should a no 10 or 11 do it 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

People who don’t know James Sutherland can say what they will about his tenure. He & I played together as teammates and battled hard as opponents. What I can say he is an honest, highly respected friend & above all a quality human being Congrats Suddsy on all you have achieved.
