I don't get it.... isn't contrast between two colours? How can a colour be inherently low contrast?

It uses the text color of an element and compares against that element's background color.

Try expanding the Contrast Ratio section. The line only shows up when that section is expanded.

Yeah! I found out that Chrome was developing something similar in Canary about halfway through working on it myself. I’m excited that it will be a part of Chrome dev tools soon!
