In @ChromeDevTools I can't appear to search for "id=" in the generated markup, even if I know a page has elements with an id assigned.

XPath works too. This query searches the whole document ('//') for any node ('*') with ID set to certain value ('[

I was pretty much just looking for the nearest ID element that existed, not any particular value. Otherwise I'd just search the value.
