I recently came face to face with an internet problem I didn’t even know existed, because for me (and probably you), it doesn’t—but it does for thousands or millions of people around the world.https://meyerweb.com/eric/thoughts/2018/08/07/securing-sites-made-them-less-accessible/ …

maybe Im wrong but does HTTP/2 may help here ? I mean it should create less go & back requests. Also ultra-light website (not talkin about #googleAmp here) may also hopefully help (inline css, lazy loaded fonts pix etc) Last : can we emulate uganda-sat using Chrome DevTools ?

You’d save some handshakes, but a lost packet still needs to be resent. Doesn’t http/2 multiplex on one tcp stream? Seems like that would make it worse. I might try upping tcp windows, but that might make it worse as well. It is hard to improve on tcp/ip.

Thx for the reply Kayce - now praying for that feature to be integrated soon, for Africa (and all underprivileged places) sake ! We (front-end developers) need to focus on this kind of use too After a #mobilefirst webphilosophy We may get a #underprivilegedfirst webphilosophy ?

Hey @meyerweb do you think #webtorrent can help us here ? I mean it can check for bad/corrupted/hijacked packet and retry until getting a proper one. Don't know if this can help regarding simple (and light) HTML but it may definitely help for heavy assets https://hacks.mozilla.org/2018/08/dweb-building-a-resilient-web-with-webtorrent/ …
