To illustrate point 3: when I showed up for work on July 3rd, there was a huge line of people waiting to be tested at our "tent". However the lines were non existent the next couple of days. Turns out, ppl showed up to get tested be4 July 4th gatherings

Still very hard to get tested with PCR if asymptomatic

Usman, would be helpful to indicate what city. In Seattle, RT-PCR tests are free, 1-4 day lead time for appts (but some on-demand capacity available too), drive-through infrastructure provided by
@SeattleFire and@UWVirology and orchestrated by (great) software from@solvhealth.

ICU beds. I rounded in the general service for a first time since May this weekend. Back then, the COVID beds had taken over 2 of our ICUs. It was 1/4 of the size and declining now. Our detecting milder cases, means that modeling of resource use got a lot less easy

Number 3. People get tested because they a) are scared, b) they don’t understand testing, c) their employer ( casinos, Costco) sent them to be tested, 4) they’ve traveled to a hot spot, 5) they are curious. The tent is for asymptomatic patients.
