‘It feels like I’m at a firefighters conference and no one’s allowed to speak about water.’ — This historian wasn’t afraid to confront the billionaires at Davos about their greedpic.twitter.com/TiXSJZd89M

Hell yeah it does... hell doesn't matter whether or not said job will pay the rent and keep food on the table... just be glad you have the little job we allowed you to have... It's disgusting.

The way they frame it is, "i 'gave' you a job and you 'took' my money" when in reality it's "i performed a task for you and now you pay me".

as if "jobs" are theirs to give lmao. the "job creators" myth is central to capitalist mythology and its complete fiction. everyone at Davos could be penniless and everyone else would still need to get up and go to work to provide goods and services

This concerns me too. Even jobs like mine that require a Master's Degree, licensing, ins, etc are being cut to under half time so benefits aren't provided. So while there's a job it's not adequate. We need to unite instead of divide--there is enough for all if it's a priority

Walmart has done that for years. Workers at 32hrs don't qualify for insurance. I have bachelor's degree&worked at hospital as RN in prn / pool nurse in ER working 44hrs week. Bc pool nurse i didn't get insurance. I could do it bc i was insured thru spouse.

Yes, but It’s not just an argument for jobs. (Sometimes that sounds like an argument for indentured servitude) The real argument is about fair opportunity free of structural inneficiencies

The British Government constantly spout about the lowest unemployment rate for X years, but the Office for National Statistics said that "you only need to have worked for 1 hour a week to be considered employed". It's disgusting how stats are twisted to push an agenda.
