Today, after six years and more than 200 interviews, the book that grew out of that project, THEY SAID THIS DAY WOULD NEVER COME, is being published. It’s an oral history of the 2008 Obama campaign, told through the voices of staff, volunteers, and organizers

It’s release day for UNTIL JUSTICE BE DONE, so I wanted to introduce it a bit! This book chronicles the antebellum struggle for racial equality before the law, a fight that spanned the free states and sometimes found its way into the slave states too. bookshop.org/books/until-ju

This new book is terrific, and important. Kate Masur joins a conversation among historians who've been taking a closer look at people fighting for racial equality in the North, in addition to abolition in the South, in the decades before the Civil War

It’s publication day for Kill Switch, my book about how reactionaries and white supremacists twisted the Senate into a paralyzed body that shuts down our democracy. Our political environment is horrific these days, but the Senate is key to how we got here.

I joined ’s campaign 1.5 yrs (feels like a lifetime) ago bc I believed in the change he knew was possible, in the country he knew we could be. Can’t wait to make that happen w/ this team working for one of the smartest people I’ve ever met (on a bus in IA) .

As good a time as any to note, again, that DC is a historically black city of 700,000 people — more people than Wyoming — who pay taxes, have been denied the rights granted to states, and because of that have no ability to stop federal law enforcement from occupying the city.

From the people who brought you the 78% probability of Hillary Clinton winning the presidency: Maybe it’s time to bag these useless forecasts. They don’t help voters make a decision about who they think should be president.

To put in context, Pete Buttigieg has been running for office longer than Elizabeth Warren

A few Warren opponents have convinced themselves that she's conniving or a DNC plant, etc. But she really is a college professor who never ran for office until she was eligible for early Social Security benefits. (She was 63 when elected to the Senate.) twitter.com/CharlotteAlter
