Forgot to give my Battletech review after finishing the game. Really liked it, and if you like turn-based strategy or are a fan of the old tabletop version, you'll probably like it too. Lots of room for expansion in the future.
Usually you only need one long range mech (primarily for knockdown - pop some LRMs then have another mech finish). I'd try swapping one of your long range ones out for another bruiser medium range configuration and see how that feels.

Also, if you can mount two AC/20s on something, I would highly recommend it. Will core everything up to an assault class if both hit center torso (use precision shot).

I've been filling in the tactics skill group, so I can use the longer range weapons up close. I'm thinking my problem is I'm overarmored on a could and need to drop some armor for more weapons.

Just remember, the best defense is coring out as many enemy mechs before they can shoot back :p
