Silicon Valley - "Automated cars are the future!" Me - "An AI capable of navigating thousands of multiple vehicles simultaneously in downtown LA on a rainy Saturday night is already so far past basic human capabilities as to render our existence meaningless."

Does it matter that it's not likely to be a single instance doing it? I mean, we already have hundreds of thousands of humans doing it in parallel on a rainy Saturday night and that's not remarkable

I'm confused or missing your point. Current autonomous vehicles aren't running on cloud instances, to the best of my knowledge, they're running local to the cars. Current human drivers definitely are local to their cars. Where does the single AI controller come from?
