No. This guy knows that you have horribly misinterpreted the graph. That animation shows that people in the US have almost universally prospered since 1971. It does NOT show an increase in wealth accumulation. And if you stop being prideful for a moment, I can explain.

The vertical axis in those slices are NOT "total income" or "total wealth." They are "Percentage of US households." At every point in time, the vertical bars add up to 100%. 100% of households, not wealth.

Apparently punters can't rapidly analyze information in order to make an educated decision...said no one ever, but homeboy's sure implying it.

Direct him to the one in the same thread where its shows that like 99% of income gain in the past few years have gone to the top 1% and it has been trending upward like that since Ronald Reagan was in office.

How about just looking at my explanation, and considering it in and of itself. Go in without preconceived notions. Examine the chart. And understand that I am not trolling Chris. I am disappointed that he muted someone who was trying to correct false interpretation.

They're the same people that say, WAPO ISNT A NEWS SOURCE!@!@#!@# when the actual story they're getting from the AP or official government releases.

The percentage of households making from $0-$5k annually went from about 1.6% up to about 2.3%. Not great at all. But look at households making $20k and under: 1971 - 12.6% 2015 - 10.1% Again - adjusted for inflation.

Seriously, if you aren't interested in having a discussion, that's fine. But calling someone a liar is a bit much. Particularly when so many people have read that graph incorrectly (because it is presented in an unconventional format.)

I am not disagreeing with the content of the graph. What I am seeing, however, is a large number of people who are incorrectly interpreting what that graph purports to show. It does not show Concentration of Wealth, nor Income. It shows Percentage of Households making
$X. -
For some reason, people see that chart in motion and think Income Inequality. And the vertical bars do not represent dollars. They represent "percentage of households." At every step in that chart, the bars add up to 100.
