Point still remains that it's the same population though (football players who have died), so it's fair to compare.
Thats what I was explaining earlier - 111 sent their brains in. 110 had CTE. 1400 players total died during that period.

Which, as the article says, is much higher than the general population's percentage with CTE. It's statistically significant.
