My favorite thing when I post something about Kaepernick is the absolutely predictable horde of right wing loons who show up in my mentions and are suddenly football experts. Never gets old.

Collin is an upstanding man and a good role model for anyone. However, let's not act like he was ever that good. His peak was slightly above average, and there is no reason for a team to sign him now other than a PR statement.

“His peak was slightly above average” He was a play away from winning a Super Bowl. He was named an All Pro. His stats were consistent through his career, despite being on a Harbaugh team going into the shitter. But sure. Slightly above average.https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KaepCo00.htm …

Pretty sure he was never named all pro, and if you look at current QBs with similar stats today, they are also considered mostly average. Do I think he should have been essentially black balled by the league? No. Do I think he was some gamebreaking play maker? Also no.

He had plenty of chances to show how good he was. He started 2 full seasons and went to a SB, that's more snaps than most QBs in the NFL ever see. Oh and then after that he lost his starting job to Blaine Gabbert...

Sure thing, buddy. I mean, his first full 16 game season he was rated higher than tom brady was his first full 16 game season, but yeah, You're probably right. I'm sure you're much more knowledgeable than the guy that actually played pro ball that you're arguing with.

I'm arguing with you now, not Chris. I'd love to hear why he thinks Kaep is good other than making a SB and a made up all pro that didn't actually happen. But can you come up with a counter argument other than, "You're dumb, I'm siding with the former NFL punter?"

Because being regarded as a good quarterback is as much about making good plays (which he did) as also being surrounded by the tools to help you succeed (which in his final two years at SF he was not). In addition, when you compare his stats to the large amount of mediocre

white quarterbacks who STILL are playing in the NFL, it’s very clear he was blacklisted. But hey, based on your responses, you seem to have a vested interest in pretending that’s not what happened, so imma just block you now and move on with my life.
