I’m of two minds on this. Yeah, the obvious (and intelligent) choice is to just take the self-destruct tax, but there’s also something to be said about asking from a design perspective what the fuck is wrong with you that you created a potential system for space slavery.

Actually had a conversation similar to this last night on a board game podcast I’m a guest on, where we were going over the idea that as a designer, if you incentivize players to engage in actually socially harmful behavior, your game quickly becomes not fun for a lot of people.
