I just got a piece of junk mail that concerns me. It’s the standard “YOU WERE A FORMER NFL PLAYER LET US GET YOU YOUR CTE MONEY BUY STONKS NOW,” but that’s not what’s concerning. What’s concerning is that it has my current address on it, and here’s why.

Either the NFL or the NFLPA is registered in the state of Florida in a way that leaves the ENTIRE playerbase’s personal address information available to any yahoo that knows how to look. This, uh, might be a problem. I’m a Z-list celebrity, at best. Others are not.

And note that it’s not a player’s personal address information from *when they played.* This is up to date, we know where you live right now information. Might be problematic!

The old/different address, when you moved to your current address did you fill out the change of address (mail forwarding) form with usps? If yes, the mailer got your new address via NCOA update when processing the data using the old address
