Yea it’s not that hard when you see so many other democracies when more than 2 parties... they’ve figured it out

I'm such a fan of Fusion Voting. More states should roll it out. It's part of why you can cover so many different perspectives in New York.

In Australia where we use preferential voting we still have a largely two party system in our House of Representatives. You also need multi member electorates for more parties to really be viable (like in our Senate)
-
In our Senate there are twelve senators per state, and half are elected each cycle. So each Senate election we use proportional preferential voting to elect 6 senators from a single slate of all candidates. Third parties and even independents can be elected that way.

Parliament definitely has problems, but at least unless one party gets enough to win on their own, they at least HAVE to compromise with another party to keep their coalition. I do like ranked choice, as long as we can get enough of a split in parties it meant something.

The Westminster parliamentary system has its drawbacks, but...damn. I don't know that there is a system that can withstand one of the major parties working to actively undermine the system. You even consider coaching for a CFL team?
-
No system can withstand a concerted assault to break it. It’s up to the rest of us to make sure that doesn’t happen. I have not thought of coaching a CFL team.
