And I’m not excusing our abysmal track record when it comes to foreign affairs (particularly in the Middle East and South America), but there’s a vast difference between how a Clinton presidency approaches the CCP’s authoritarian crackdown versus how Trump approached it.

Once HK was returned to Chinese control, I think this outcome was inevitable. A Clinton administration would have handled it differently, but I don’t see the big picture changing.

Bigger picture, should the US be heavily invested in the South China Sea? I’m very much not a fan of China’s foreign or domestic policy at the moment but I don’t know that unilateral US action is the solution.

Uhhhhhh, I’m not gonna put you on blast for this one because it’s clear you don’t have any idea what’s going on globally, but 1/3 of the WORLD’S shipping goes through the South China Sea. The US most definitely should be interested in what’s happening there.
