I want to ask @ChrisWarcraft why Crosby missed that PAT kick, but the answer pretty much has to be “because it’s snowing, duh”

Mainly more “it’s windy,” but yeah the snow plays a part too

Do shoes/socks/kick balls change in any meaningful ways for kickers and punters because of cold and snow?

Balls change (they become harder and don’t travel as far due to the temperature/pressure), and your footing can get suspect depending on the field, but everything else stays the same.

Judging from my experience punting in a game at Chicago in 2006 where the field temperature was 5 degrees with a windchill of negative 10, yes, I believe the scientific term is “hurts like a motherfucker”
