I play in an amateur league here in the UK and we also use “fire” in this situation. Every team I have played against who have had a botched kicked use “fire”. I wonder if this is one of those terms that, in football, only gets used in one particular situation, like S.O.S?

Yeah, pretty sure it’s the go to for “oh crap things went south time to scatter” since it’s easy to yell out and instantly lets everyone know it’s bad
