I would imagine all three types of ball being different makes for a lot of variation also.

So if you're spiraling the ball, you can't control the distance as well? Or do you mean you can't control the bounce as well?

Distance/hangtime, because the sweet spot you’re trying to hit is much smaller. You either hit it right and it goes a ways up high, or you hit it wrong and it doesn’t.
