I dunno who needs to hear this, but if you like eating a wide variety of foods that aren’t “butter and cream of mushroom soup Americana food,” please support your local restaurants and all legislation helping them survive this pandemic. It’s meaningful work being a cook.

Early humans actually mostly boiled a lot of their food. Soups and stews are really efficient ways to get nutrients out of whatever you can hunt or gather, and it's much easier to do a decent job of it on an open flame.
