Like, I don’t think a lot of you understand what it means for him to have caught up to that DB like that. In the NFL, *every* position player is fast. Faster than you can imagine. Metcalf not only chased that dude down, he did it from ~15 yards behind. WHAT THE FUCK

Here’s a test for you. Get a friend or someone you think is about the same speed as you, and go to a football field. Make sure you stretch and warmup thoroughly, then have that friend start at the 15 yard line while you start at the goal line. Try to catch them by the 10.

I ran high school track with a kid who was borderline nfl fast (he was under 4.6 in the 40 as a junior in HS) and we used to do a drill like that, where we’d run 40s except I’d start 5 yards ahead, and he passed me every time. I was a hurdler but ran a little under 5 in the 40.

I’m still convinced that kid never ran as fast as he could have. We were a small school and he dominated our league meets, but he’d get in his head sometimes against stronger competition at bigger events. I handed off to him in the 4x100 and really all I had to do was be close.

Also, coincidentally, his name was Kyle Rudolph, tho clearly not the tight end. He was a little dude, like 5’6”, and played CB and RB in football.

Hah, yeah, I played against some speedy little guys in soccer growing up. Looking back, they were probably college speed at best, but it was everything I had to try and even stay close, and I wasn’t really slow.
