Have you considered an iPad with the Procreate app? It’s a very powerful digital drawing combination.

I agree with this suggestion. iPad is easier to use and better ergonomically in my experience.

My oldest daughter uses procreate on an iPad and loves it! She also uses and Apple Pencil.

i got my daughter one without a screen for $200 a few years ago and she finds it hard to use. I think i'm gonna spring for the ~$650 cintiq this year. Or maybe an ipad, but i'm on the fence about that.

I actually wouldn’t get a Wacom - through my job I have had access to a surface pro, an iPad and a Wacom cintiq and iPad w/ Procreate or surface pro with clip studio paint are my go to, I use the Wacom less often.

Clip Studio is great cause it’s a one time cost (and they frequently do sales for 50% off), and Procreate is free.

I can't draw, but a webcomic artist I like uses a Cintiq I do believe. (He also had a character wear your Vikings jersey around the time you posed in the magazine.)

@choochoobear didn't you switch to digital a bit ago? -
Yeah, but I don't use a wacom. I use a Surface Pro.

years ago i had a Bamboo from Wacom that was a great intro-level tablet. i think the equivalent now would be the One line.
