Just created a DnD character for a campaign I’ll be joining that I’m irrationally proud of. He’s a Drow cleric (Kithrak Shadowvane) who used to be a member of one of the mid-tier Drow noble houses in the Underdark, eldest son of the house, heir-apparent, all that jazz.

At his 100th birthday, he got possessed by the Elvish god of magic when the Elvish god mispronounced the name of his next high priest (Kethrak Shadowbane) at a power investiture ceremony. The Elvish god of magic is also the god of the Light domain.

So Kithrak got banished for uncontrollably blasting light spells and sacred fire everywhere as the Elvish god tried to reclaim his power but couldn’t, and now he’s wandering the surface looking for a way to get rid of the god while arguing with it in his head.

His entire kit, with the exception of a single healing spell, is all abilities that cause him to be momentarily blinded or lit on fire. I can’t wait to play him.

I don’t really speak DnD, but... is he a schizophrenic fail-son?

No, he was actually quite competent, but Drow hate sunlight so they booted him (tried to kill him actually but he got away). His whole goal is to try to reclaim his position in Drow society.
