The point is that things could have been bad as they are in New York City, but we took steps in other areas soon enough to prevent that. Also, it doesn't matter what is going on in 3 weeks as you will move the goalposts to convince yourself that you are correct.

I won’t move the goalposts. You guys will when nothing super drastic happens. I agree with the original quarantine. Needed to happen but we need to allow businesses to get back to work or we will have a much bigger problem on our hands in 6 months.

I think the much bigger problem you should be referring to is: “What do we do if in 6 months we are in this same place because we continue trying to reopen too soon?” What is drivin four curve now is the measure in place now, allowing people to go back to work...

Too soon increases the number of people who will get infected and prolongs this even further. It’s analogous to stopping a course of antibiotic because you feel better. We aren’t done when the curve flattens, we have to keep it flat until we have something substantial - vaccine

You have to look at the total population likely infected to figure out if opening is safe or not. Right now at 814,490 cases in the US, and let’s say that number is only the 20% of the total cases in the actual population, a huge estimate...

That is only ~4.1 million possibly infected, an over estimate to be sure, but that is only 1.3% of the total population in the US. There is nowhere to go but up from an infectious disease standpoint. That is a dangerous time to open...

The state that is going to serve as the best flagship for opening is a state like NEw York, becuse they will tell us when our curve is actually nearing its end, everyone else is either behind or mitigating against being in New York’s position

Wow, and only at the low low cost of a 12% mortality rate! What a bargain! Can’t imagine why scientists aren’t rushing to kill off 36million American citizens!pic.twitter.com/DLIMTKa4Iw

Do you know how many were untested who had Covid? No. No one will ever know. You’re a damn fool if you think 12% died. Come on you’re smarter than that.
