Gonna tell you all about a dream I had last night, because it is *very* rare for me to have dreams (usually I close my eyes and then wake up the next morning), and this one was a doozy. It started out as reading a children’s book. There were some frog-like things on the cover.

This starts to seem a bit confusing, so I glance up, but the teacher reassures me to keep following the book’s instructions. I focus on the first picture. It’s a landscape of high, dead grass, and a faceted sky, like crystal. It feels empty and barren, but it looks back at me.

The next picture I remember the most vividly. It’s an oilcolor of a woman holding a wine glass, only as I look closer, she’s also leaning against a much larger goblet, but as I look closer again, she and the goblet are actually the same.

Where her head should be is the larger goblet filled with a dark fluid, as if it’s taking place of prominence in my focus instead of whatever features might normally show. Everything else is still, but the liquid is moving. She’s smiling.

The third picture is a grainy sepia photograph of a monument, but there are words at the bottom corner like a date/time stamp. I try to read them but they keep shifting into what they think I want to say, and what I say isn’t what I’m seeing but everyone’s very happy to hear it.

There’s one more picture left.

That’s when I woke up, so, uh, apologies if I dreamt about reading a children’s primer on how to summon Nyarlathotep and almost succeeded, my bad, probably won’t happen again. Like I said, I usually don’t have dreams, but that one stayed with me.
