well my point exactly. i'm more afraid of the inherent human survival instinct but based on emotion and not facts. Not that this will get to that point but we all have lived in the entertainment of the fall of humanity. Fear is a scary and dangerous emotion. empathy doesn't exist

If it makes you feel any better, in the event of catastrophe, communities are more likely to come together than to fragment. I mean, you still have to deal with the catastrophe, but there’s that.

no i agree, that is usually what does happen. But in this day in age.. I think that's lost. Communities have been fragmented. There's a more us against them mentality because of the current state. I'm sure there will be many that come together but there are many more that wouldnt

i'm not trying to make any point other then that is one of my concerns. I live in chicago. And I can see, if it gets to that point, where schools are closing, people are not able to go to their jobs, and shut down of services or even being able to go to the store and get food....

we haven't seen anything like that since the great depression and I am just putting out my concern that if this is handled in a good way.. i.e. trusting our government bodies to assist.... then i'm just a little be concerned of the outcome if the worst is yet to come

anyway... i feel like i see the signs of things getting out of control because we have a government that is not doing enough. That press conference was not reassuring. Watching the CNBC stiffs talking about what ifs.. like they care about it other then how long is this going to..

affect their bottom line. it just takes a moment for things to go from bad to worse if you're not paying attention and having the time to prepare to take care of your family. unfortunately we don't have that reassurance in our leaders right now. So just saying.. i concerned

I completely understand that concern. Just try to balance the pessimism with the optimism, and I say this as someone very familiar with the pessimism.
