It is remarkable how that airline seat thing illustrates a lot of people’s thinking that because you can pay to cause discomfort to others, you should be allowed to do so.

And your thinking is that you should be allowed to retaliate childishly (arguably maliciously) and inflict similar/greater discomfort? Flying in and of itself is a privileged act; I'm not shedding tears for anyone who responds to discomfort this way.

As I said in an earlier response, do you think he would do this to a large man? Way to prove the point that you find this behavior acceptable with the tacit understanding this would only happen to someone it COULD be done to, or a physically smaller person, very likely a woman.

Where did I say I found his behavior acceptable? I said don’t recline your seat or you’re an asshole. He reacted poorly, but I absolutely understand why.

You can call seat recliners assholes all you want, but to focus on this guy's discomfort over his "poor reaction" IS a justification. And you have not addressed that he only did this to someone he felt he could intimidate.

Maybe as someone who is 6'4" that's something you don't understand, but it's a real thing for those of us not so physically blesssd. You can say that those who disagree with you believe money gives them the right to discomfort others...

But I argue just as strongly that it's wrong for people to use a different set of behavior towards people they know they can physically intimidate.

I don’t disagree, but in the absence of any other pattern of behavior, I think it’s a bit of a stretch to immediately leap to “the only reason he’s doing this is because she’s a woman”

I find this ironic since your entire argument has been based on "seat recliners are assholes," disregarding those in your mentions explaining that reclining makes a difference for their own comfort as well, but you're entitled to cape up for whomever you choose.
