Made pasta tonight but this time I used that soy protein that’s made to look like ground beef instead of actual ground beef. It’s... not bad, I guess? Texture is similar, taste is definitely different, but it’s not a bad taste, just not what I’m used to. Would use again.

The crumbles? Try Worcestershire and go heavy on spices- that works for Quorn.

I watched a YT video where a woman was battering and frying tofu. She said once it was fried her she just told her kids they were chicken nuggets and they believed her.

Yeah, tofu’s one of those that picks up whatever flavor you cook it with

It's *really* good as a taco meat substitute...it soaks up those flavors. I prefer it to beef now

We kicked over to the Gardein brand when my wife went Vegetarian- honestly cant tell woth their imitation beef products. The "chicken breast" isn't so great though.
