Like, if someone said to me “Chris, there are a lot of racist asshole white people,” my response would be “ayup, there sure are, glad I’m not one,” because if I instead went shrieking into their mentions about hashtag Not All White Men I would be castigated, and rightfully so.

probably because this is the one platform where they can actually respond to arguments like this, a lot of which are made in bad faith or without comparison to other candidates. Most Bernie supporters I know will absolutely criticize him, they hate seeing it done from the right

Is it cool if I quote retweet this with my personal experiences as to why I don’t think this is the case?

sure, but I think if you want to make an honest argument, it should address people who actually have a notable following, and not just random tiny accounts. Using that metric, you could make this argument for literally any candidate.

I’m not doing it to try and dunk on you, that’s why I asked. It’s the fact that Bernie supporters, at least in my experience, are unique in absolutely swarming people who dare offer a legitimate criticism of his toxic elements with “NOT ALL BERNIE SUPPORTERS”

again, I think that has to do with where the criticism is coming from. In my experience Bernie supporters will absolutely acknowledge experience from the left. I don't think many of the ones going after you actually realize you're anti-capitalist

It’s almost like... they’re toxic elements who don’t bother doing any background research when they can make themselves feel good by attacking someone who criticized Dear Leader?

when they see the same arguments used in bad faith from people to right, it's not an absurd jump to make, even if it is hasty. And if they see you retweeting someone like O'Brien (the wife of an investment banker, who they obliviously don't think is making arguments in good faith

Also, I don't think comparing this to "not all men" is fair, because Bernie has a diverse base, made up of marginalized people" which doesn't fit with the connotation of "Bernie Bros"
