I think it’s also a complicated dynamic since a lot of the criticism of the candidate appears to focus, instead, on a subset of online supporters, which do not appear to be any more/less terrible than other candidates’ extremely online stans

Anecdotal evidence, since it’s only my personal experience, but I’ve shit on a lot of the candidates over the past months, and shitting on Bernie draws the largest response *by far*

Bernie Bros are more of the left’s Tea Party than they are MAGA types. They are ideologically pure and feel righteousness for it. There’s no compromise in them because their individual identity is tied up in their political ideology. 1/2

And because of that it runs the rest of us wrong because their approach is to come in guns blazing about how their way is right. Government has to be about compromise. Your policy platform is meaningless if it can be instituted because it’s uncompromising.
