I do this with the “Spanish Flu” and what might happen today. And then I just stop bc it’s not enough. Lol. (I’m not currently writing. I’m just researching/planning my next work.)

Dude, he knows what SF is. Research takes you to strange places and logical extrapolation takes you to even stranger ones. And your examples? They're not current science. I grew up reading them, and they were a generation out of date 20 years ago.

Also, a fun thing about sci-fo writing that I just got from reading a book of short stories by Ursula K Le Guin was the foreword written by her, referring to “psychomyths” —“outside any history, outside of time”...”w/o spatial or temporal limits at all.”

I thought about similar things while listening to Dan Carlin's
@HardcoreHistory on WWI. That war was so shocking cause there had not been a major powers war in 100 years. It's been 75 years since WWII. I'm worried humanity will require another lesson in horror.Merci. Twitter en tiendra compte pour améliorer votre fil. SupprimerSupprimer

Thank you for doing research cause when sci fi is like “the planet is one giant metropolis, nearly 15 billion people live there” or whatever, I want to punch the book so hard the author feels it.
