Might want to go back to Miyamoto’s work on World 1-1 in Super Mario Bros, and how the player is taught by the environment what to do and what not to do. As it currently stands, the Awakener fight has *zero* teaching parts to let the player know what’s expected.

And the weird thing is that GGG seemed to understand that for the Shaper and Elder fights, which is what makes them so good. Their abilities on the maps they influence teach you about what they’re going to do as bosses. There’s nothing like that for Awakener.
