Hey, it’s Friday, the world’s still lurching along, I have a book you can preorder. You should order it and then have a drink, or have a drink then order it, I dunno, I’m not your momhttps://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250203939 …
Ehh, to be fair, it’s a common name. The main reason I picked it is that it can be used as both a boy’s name and a girl’s name, and I deliberately wrote the first few chapters so that Ash’s gender isn’t explicitly revealed (most early readers assumed she was a guy at first).

Of course, the cover kinda gives it away now, but oh well

That's interesting, actually. What made you write the first chapters as gender-neutral? Did you know the character's gender at the time? I picked Ash for a similar reason; it's a unisex name and my character is transgender. There's also some thematic ties with the setting.
