I feel like a lot of sports fans (NFL specifically) don't care or understand the health risks taken by players. I don't watch the NFL regularly so I just saw that most recent hit of his and it's entirely indefensible and yet people on this hell site are doing just that!

I remember when I was a bus driver, the union did a lot of great work for wages, insurance, schedules, but kept several drivers employed when they made screw-ups that endangered children. That sat really poorly with me. I was like, some people SHOULD be fired, union dues or not.

I was a union VP for a newspaper bargaining unit and we didn't contest a firing for plagiarism. We did our due diligence and talked to everyone involved, and reviewed the allegation ourselves, but when it became clear they really did plagiarize the whole became more important.

I thought this when the bountygate thing broke out. I get they exist to protect players' rights, but shouldn't the union excuse itself in cases of fines and suspensions for deliberately or wrecklessly endanger the health of fellow players?

The ejection and suspension are deserved, but he didn’t even have the dirtiest hit of the week, yet he was the only one that was ejected/suspended

That was his FOURTEENTH infraction

Meanwhile, no suspension appears forthcoming for the helmet-to-helmet hit that knocked Josh Allen out yesterday.

Burfict is, and always has been, a dirty player. He should be out of the league. Period.

Hey, while we're here, can we talk about a certain ex-vikings safety who throws his body around the field like an unguided missile and has - not for the first time - taken out a teammate with his irresponsible headhunting?
-
He’s always been a liability. Looks for the bit hit instead of making the play.
