Just finished watching the first episode of Hard Knocks. My takeaways. -Gruden seems phony as shit. The only human interaction he had was when he lifted that baby up near the end. -You can tell Brown’s feet are fuuuuuuucked. Straight line is fine, but no burst out of cuts.

I thought it was painfully obvious when he said, "WANNA MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS I DON'T WANT ANY ROOKIE HAZING"

To be fair, that’s a standard coach line during preseason. Little things are okay (stupid skits, fetching gear, etc), but they don’t want lawsuit material.

One dude, a first round pick d-lineman, was an absolute ass. Very much like the safety in the show. The veterans took him for a bunch of money in their weekly gambling game (because he was dumb), and then one week later in the season, before practice, they took all his clothes,

draped them over his expensive car, and hosed them down. The temperature was 28 degrees. The clothes were out there for five hours before he was finished with practice and film and finally noticed.

Paint come off? Or just an extremely unpleasant experience?

I believe it took him an additional two hours with the groundskeepers to thaw them sufficiently to allow him access to the car so he could drive home.

So here's a "deeper" question; Is it really just about posturing and hierarchy and "tradition because I had to go through it!", or do behaviors actually get changed by any of this? Like did that guy actually learn any humility and change his behavior?
