In that reality, it’s an easy leap to think that Jeffery Epstein was reminded of how bad things could get by those he chose to represent him, and that he was allowed to pursue the natural endpoint by those who didn’t care about his well-being, and were in a position to (not) act.

Long story short - I want to know who Epstein’s lawyers were talking to leading up to their client’s death. I want to know the degree of separation between them and other implicated figures. I want to know if they discharged their ethical duty, or another duty entirely.

Above all, I want our prison system to change. For-profit prisons are a disgrace to any rational thinking mind, and it’s past time we reckoned with that horror. The science is clear. Rehabilitation works, not retribution. We need to move past our Calvinist roots.

I figured for a while that Epstein would kill himself if he was found guilty. He had spent his life, like you said, avoiding consequence so why stop now? It’s sick. Whether he was convinced to do it or it was more a set-up murder, it’s gut wrenching to think his victims won’t get
